We miss crazy, Lord,
but those who know how to love
by deeds and not words,
those that are fully available to the next.
We miss crazy, Lord,
lacking daring, passionate,
people can jump
insecure in a vacuum, unknown
and deeper each day of poverty;
those who do not use next to their purposes.
We miss those crazy, oh my God!
Matti in the present,
love with a simple life,
liberators of the poor,
peace-loving,
free compromises
determined not to betray,
despising their comfort
or life,
totally decided to self-denial,
able to accept all types of assignments,
go to any place of obedience,
and at the same time free, obedient,
spontaneous and tenacious
cheerful, sweet and strong.
Give us this kind of crazy,

| Louis-Joseph Lebret was born in Minihic, near Saint- Malo, Brittany, 26 June 1897. He took part in the First World War as a naval officer. In 1923, feeling the call to religious life, he left the Navy and entered the Dominican Order. In the following years ordination, is sensitive to the plight of the little Breton fishermen, affected by the economic crisis of those years, helping them to cope with it and giving them the tools for critical analysis of the socio-economic status, in view of an alternative that finally saw the 'economy in the service of man. Developing this vision, the institute created in 1941 Economy and Humanism. Since 1947, internationally recognized for the seriousness of his studies, was repeatedly asked in different countries of the South to make its contribution to global development, harmonized and self-generating. In the 60 Pope Paul VI called him to Rome as an expert at Vatican II and wanted him as his greatest collaborator in the drafting of his encyclical on the development of peoples, Populorum Progressio. Lebret father died in Paris on July 20, 1966. |
